NoomiClone not loading or not responding
The browser version is a game built in Unity and served from itch.io, so most problems come from the browser, a blocking extension or the device. Work down the list; each step takes under a minute.
The game stays on a black box or never loads
- Press Load the game on the play page. The game only starts after you press it, and the first load can take a while on a slow connection.
- Turn off ad blockers and privacy extensions for this site, or open the page in a private window with extensions disabled. Embedded games are one of the things these tools can block.
- Check that itch.io is reachable. The game is loaded from itch.io, so if your school, work or home network blocks it, the game cannot load here either. We do not host a copy and cannot work around a network filter.
- Reload the page and try again in a different current browser: Chrome, Edge or Firefox.
The game loads but the keys do nothing
- Click once inside the game window, then press a key. The game only receives the keyboard after it has focus.
- Use the keys the browser build listens to: ← arch, Space tuck, ↑ let go, R reset. See the controls table.
- If the page scrolls when you press Space or the arrow keys, the game does not have focus. Click inside it again.
It is slow or stutters
- Close other heavy tabs and apps. Physics games use a lot of processor time.
- Make sure hardware acceleration is turned on in your browser settings. Unity games run through WebGL, which needs it.
- Leave fullscreen with Esc if the picture lags only in fullscreen, and try the normal size.
It shows on my phone but I cannot play
The browser version is built for a keyboard. On a phone it can display the game, but it has no touch controls, so you cannot make Noomi move. This is how the browser build works, not a fault with your phone.
On a phone, use the free app from the App Store or Google Play instead. The app has on-screen buttons for every move. The links are in the red note above the game on the play page when you open it on a phone.

Questions
Why does the game need me to press a button before it starts?
The game only downloads when you press Load the game. That keeps the page light and means nothing heavy loads unless you want to play.
Is my progress saved?
We do not control saving in the browser version and cannot promise it. If you want progress backed up, the app has an optional sign-in for that.
Does it work on a Chromebook or a school laptop?
It usually works if the browser is current and itch.io is not blocked on that network.
