NoomiClone swing timing: find your release point
NoomiClone shows no timing guide and publishes no numbers for when to let go. This page is a drill for finding your own release point, so you are not copying someone else's video.
Why there is no single perfect timing
NoomiClone is a physics game, so where Noomi ends up depends on how fast you were swinging when you let go and what shape the body was in at that moment. Two swings that look the same can end differently.
We have not timed the release in frames or seconds and we do not give numbers, because the game runs in real time and the result can change with your device, your browser and the version. Treat any page that quotes an exact release window with caution unless it shows how it measured it.
The release drill
- Open the play page and start in Bar mode on the Classic map, which is the first map listed in the game description.
- Pick a swing you can repeat. Use the same number of arch and tuck presses each time, so every attempt starts from a similar swing. See the controls table for the keys.
- Let go at one moment you can describe, for example "when the body is level with the bar". Watch where Noomi goes.
- Press R to reset. Change only one thing: let go a little earlier or a little later than last time.
- Write down what happened after each try. After five or six tries the pattern shows, and the release point that works for you is the one you can repeat.
- Only then change body shape in the air (tuck, arch). Changing release and shape together hides which one made the difference.
What to change when the flight goes wrong
| What you see | What may have happened | Try next |
|---|---|---|
| Noomi flies out low and flat | Released too early, or the swing was small | Let go a little later, or add a swing before releasing |
| Noomi goes up and drops back toward the bar | Released too late | Let go a little earlier |
| The flip does not finish | Not tucked long enough, or not enough height | Hold tuck longer, or add a swing |
| The flip goes past the landing | Stayed tucked too long | Open up (arch) earlier |
These are directions to test, not measured results. Change one thing at a time and keep your own notes.
Reviewing your release in the app
The app has two tools made for this. The developer lists slow motion for getting timing right, and replays that you can scrub through and save as video, with your taps shown on screen if you turn that on. Watching a failed attempt in slow motion is the quickest way to see whether you let go early or late. The browser version has neither.
Why your timing may not match a video
A tutorial recorded on a phone, at a different frame rate, or on another version may not transfer exactly to your device. The browser build on this site is the developer's separate HTML5 version, so a release point learned in the app may need a small adjustment here, and the other way round.
Questions
What is the exact release time in seconds?
There is no official number, and we have not measured one. Use the drill on this page to find the point that works on your device.
Which map should I practise on?
Start with the Classic map in Bar mode. It is the first map in the developer's description, and a simple bar makes it easier to repeat the same swing.
Does the browser version behave like the app?
The browser build is a separate HTML5 version with a keyboard-only control scheme, so small differences are possible. The drill works in either.
